If you’re visiting Avon from out of state, chances are you’ll be flying into and/or back out of Denver International Airport (DIA), slightly more than 100 miles from Avon, and a little less than two hours drive, give or take. Since you’re there already, why not add a day in Denver to your itinerary? While scenic vistas of Avon are what brought you all this way, Denver has its own charms, and they’re well worth discovering. Denver is the capital of Colorado, is known for its craft breweries, an average of 300 sunny days per year, proximity to the Rockies, and its mile-high elevation (hence the city’s nickname, the Mile High City). If you can squeeze in a day or two in Denver, read on for more information about some of the city’s top attractions.
